Interesting review meeting today. SM, a verbal young man with autism, challenging behaviour, and obsessive behaviour, has been presenting problems. Again. So we met with mum and someone from his residential home. We got S to agree that his high conspumtion of fizzy drinks is not good and needs to be cut back - not because they sugar-boost him into hyperactivity and aggression (which they do), but because they're not healthy and he's putting on weight (which he is). He's also been refusing for a year or more now to wear a kuppel. "I don't wnat to mate. It's my choice." That's his mantra for all things. Then I hit inspiration. S supports - no, worships and venerates - Coventry City football club. Goodness knows why; I didn't know they existed before I met S. Me: "S, how about if we get you a kuppel in Coventry City colours?" "Alright then." Piece of cake!

I'm back at the college now. Too many months at Head Office. I knew I'd made the right move in coming back on Friday at the Oneg - seeing the uninhibited joy with which adley, Shimmy and the other guys danced. It's good to be back.
